Information Technology is a relatively new major and the details of the major differ from school to school. In general though, students who choose to major in Information Technology (IT) study the development, implementation and maintenance of computer hardware and software. They also often study the ways that computer technology is used in business. IT can be a 2 or 4-year degree.
