What Can You Do with an Economics Degree?

Radek, what jobs can you get with an Economics Degree? I’m wondering, what can I do with an Economics Degree?

Many economics majors go to work in many different areas of government, including: finance, labor, agriculture, transportation, business, and international business. Many go into banking. Some work for insurance companies or brokerage firms. Some go into consulting. Some go to work for manufacturers, market research firms, business firms, and consulting firms. Some go into sales or business management.

Some economics majors go on to become teachers. However, teaching in a public high school (and in many private high schools) will require certification, and teaching at a college or university will require an advanced degree.

In order to work as an economist, you will likely need a master’s degree or Ph.D. in Economics. For this and other reasons, many economics majors go on to graduate school.
